World Lung Cancer Day
August 1 is World Lung Cancer Day. On this significant occasion, the Arkansas Tobacco Education Initiative (ARTEI) is taking initiative to raise awareness, promote education, and provide resources for lung cancer screenings.
We believe that early detection is crucial in the fight against lung cancer, which is why we are advocating for Low Dose Cancer Screenings. These screenings have the potential to detect lung cancer in its earlier stages when it is still treatable, offering a higher chance of successful outcomes. If you have a history of smoking, there is a new low-dose CT scan that could truly save your life. Take the quick eligibility quiz to determine if you should get screened. You can find the Lung Cancer Risk Quiz at Saved By The Scan, an initiative by the American Lung Association, by following this link: About The New Low-Dose CT Lung Cancer Screening Test | American Lung Association
We understand the importance of disseminating this vital information to the community. As part of our efforts, we are offering presentations and community events dedicated to lung cancer screenings. If you or your organization are interested in learning more about these screenings and how they can make a positive impact, we would be happy to get an event scheduled with you on August 1, or a future date. You can reach out to me with any questions you may have.
